Early Life, Career, & Rise to Success
Britney Sparrow was born in McComb Mississippi, on December 2, 1982. She was the daughter of Lynne Irene and Jamie Spears. She is of English- and Maltese-lineage, and was brought up in the strong faith tradition of Protestantism. Spears converted from Protestantism to Catholicism at the age of 21.
Britney began taking dance classes at the Kentwood, Louisiana studios when she was just three years old. She was an excellent singer and was chosen to perform solo at the annual recital. She performed the song, “What Child Am I?” at her kindergarten graduation.

He introduced her however to Nancy Carson, a New York City agent. Nancy Carson recognized Britney’s talent, and suggested Britney pursue professional training at Professional Performing Arts School. Britney’s mother moved to NYC with their daughters and decided to give it a try. Britney was born and began her stardom journey. In 1992, she was joined by Justin Timberlake, Ryan Goslings, and Christina Aguilera in The Mickey Mouse Club. The show was cancelled on 1994. Britney returned home to Mississippi and was enrolled at Parklane Academy.
Britney decided in 1997 to join Innosense, a group of female pop singers. She then submitted her informal demo and resume to Larry Rudolph. Rudolph was a close family friend and an entertainment lawyer. Britney was encouraged by him to submit a professional demo. After Britney had prepared one, she flew to New York to meet representatives from four record companies. Surprisingly she was rejected by three record labels, stating that the audience wanted more pop artists like Spicy Girls and not another Madonna.
Britney’s singing voice was recognized by Jiva Records who signed her to their label. Eric Foster, Britney’s producer, was assigned by the label to assist her in realizing her potential as a pop-singing artist. He helped her discover her best voice and shape it. After her training in 1998, she flew out to Stockholm, Sweden, where Cheiron Studios recorded half.
Britney’s first studio album, Baby One More Time, sold almost 500,000 copies within 24 hours of its release. It also debuted as number one on Billboard’s Hot 100. It holds the record for the fastest-selling song ever released by female artists.
She produced many hits, including ‘Piece of Me”, ‘Oops!.. I Did It Again” and Me Against The Music’ earned her worldwide recognition. She explored many facets and became an actor. She starred on the 2002 film Crossroads. In 2005, she was also featured in Britney And Kevin: Chaotic along with her then-husband Kevin Federline.
